The hell was an archbishop teaching my class for?

Went in to my political science "Russia Today" class, and the teacher said there was going to be an archbishop talking today. So he came in with the beard, wardrobe, chain with the cross and all. I was very offended by this because I did not come to a university to hear a religious person speak. What does this guy have to do with Russian politics, I thought to myself. I tried to be polite by keeping quiet for a bit, but then just got so uncomfortable that I got up and left in the middle of his speech. Some might think this is rude, but I think it is not only rude, but very offensive to have a religious person come speak for a class that I thought had nothing to do with religion, not only that but I paid for it. The course synopsis said nothing about this and it is very in considerate to people of other religions. If they paid this archbishop to come and speak I will be very upset, because I did not pay money to this university to have it given to an archbishop, someone whom I would not even give a second of my spare time to. I paid money for this particular class to learn about Russian culture and politics. I will be even more upset if there was a mandatory attendance, because that would be forcing me to listen to this archbishop.
